Moidart Smokehouse is a small family run business that specialises in smoking salmon sourced from the loch it overlooks.
The smoke house is situated in the small rural community of Dalnabreac (the gaelic Dail nam Breac which means 'field of the trout'). It is made up of 10 crofts and overlooks the stunning views of Ben Resipole and Loch Sheil, ideal for sourcing the best fresh local produce.
Moidart Smokehouse is housed in what is believed to be the oldest roofed building in West Moidart. Originally it was called the Weaver's House (Tigh Fhigheadair) but records of who the weavers were has still yet to be discovered.
In the shop area of the cottage you can purchase already packaged goods and most days there are tasting dishes where you can try samples of delicious smoked foods such as cheese and salmon. Friends locally, and from across the globe, who have a passion for our food, help give the wee Smokehouse a busy and welcoming environment.

The smokehouse was open for trade in 1994 and has strived to deliver and maintain the finest smoked produce at the highest standard.

The smoking and salting of food are processes that date back to early times. The product from Moidart smokehouse has its own unique flavour, the culmination of a variety of factors.
